Electronic Font Open Laboratory

What is /efont/ (Electronic Font Open Laboratory) ?

The Open Laboratory for exchanging information about electronic fonts. We also develop electronic fonts and related programs.

Currently, no 'English only' mailing list is available. But if you subscribe the existing efont ML and post a message in English, that should be welcome. To subscribe, please send an empty message to [email protected]. After subscription please send your self introduction to [email protected].

Distributions

efont-unicode-bdf/: The Bitmap Font for Unicode.
shinonome-font/: BDF bitmap font by Yasuyuki Furukawa. Contains 12, 14 and 16 dot fonts.
efont-japanese-bdf-collection/: The archive which includes Japanese (i.e. JISX0201, 0208 and 0213) and Roman (ISO8859-1) Fonts of some sizes.
efont-serif/ [screenshot]: The modifiable and distibutable outline font which is based on Roman type and Mincho type. We are planning to distribute it in TrueType and CID Type-1 formats. The development started on November 29, 2000. Designers and testers are wanted.
bdfresize/: Bdfresize is a command to magnify or reduce fonts which are described with the standard BDF format. The original author Hiroto Kagotani was pleased to hand over its maintenance to the /efont/.

About CVS

We are using CVS to manage this Web site and develop distributed software. If you want to join the development team, run the cvsadduser.pl script to create a password for pserver and then send it to <[email protected]> (GPG public key).

If you want to get the latest snapshot from our CVS repository, please issue the following commands.

$ cvs -d :pserver:[email protected]:/circus/cvsroot login CVS password: guest $ cvs -d :pserver:[email protected]:/circus/cvsroot co efont-devel

In case of updating, please try

$ cvs update -dP

Note that the option ``-dP'' is necessary.
